2.52.010 Existence recognized – Composition – Qualifications.

The past, present and ongoing existence of the civil service commission of the fire department is recognized. The civil service commission shall be composed of three (3) members who shall be appointed by the mayor, and shall serve without compensation. The civil service commissioners shall have the qualifications prescribed by RCW 41.08.030.

2.52.020 Powers and duties relative to selection, appointment and employment of personnel.

Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 41.08 RCW, the civil service commission shall make such rules and regulations as will substantially accomplish the objectives established by state law relative to selection, appointment and employment in the city fire department, including the fire chief.
