17.64.010 Requirements.

Occupations in single-family dwelling land use districts are limited to those which are customarily incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling as a residence. Storage of equipment, materials or any commodity for use in any occupation, including occupations which are conducted on a site other than that where the equipment, materials or commodities are stored, shall be considered an occupation. No such occupation shall be allowed:

A. If any structure in addition to the normal residential structures common to the neighborhood is used for said occupation; or

B. If more than one person is employed who is not a family member residing in the residence; or

C. If any signs or commercial names are used or exhibited; or

D. Unless all employees, clients and family members are required to, and do at all times, use off-street parking exclusively, and unless not more than two vehicles owned and operated by employees and clients are allowed to be parked on the premises at any time; and

E. If any equipment, materials or commodities which are stored for use in any occupation are visible from any public or private vantage point outside of the premises on which said items are stored. (Ord. 366 § 1, 1980; Ord. 364 § 1, 1980; Ord. 63 § 4, 1958)

17.64.020 Adult family homes and family day care homes.

A. Adult family homes are a permitted use provided that they have obtained a permit for operation from the city. Permits shall be issued by the city, at no cost, upon proof that the adult family home has obtained all necessary licenses and approvals of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.

B. Family day care homes are a permitted use provided that they have obtained a permit for operation from the city. Permits shall be issued by the city, at no cost, upon proof that the family day care home has obtained all necessary licenses and approvals of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.

C. The requirements of MMC 17.64.010(B) and (D) shall not apply to adult family homes or family day care centers. (Ord. 569 § 20, 1993)
