NEWLY ANNEXED PROPERTY

17.80.010 Zoning.
Any and all new property annexed to the city shall be zoned in accordance with the designation shown in the city’s comprehensive plan, or in accordance with any joint agreement reached with Pierce County or King County. (Ord. 1405 § 2, 1999).
17.80.020 Request for change of zone before annexation.
A. Any owner of property being considered by the city council for annexation may request a change of zone before annexation and will be considered without payment of fee according to the procedures in Chapter 17.68 MMC. The decision of the city council following this procedure will then determine the zoning of the annexed property.
B. The city council shall not approve any change of zoning unless it shall find that such change conforms to the comprehensive plan. (Ord. 1405 § 2, 1999).
