1.04.010 City council districts designated.

(1) For municipal representation, the city is divided into three districts bounded and described as follows:

District I. All territory lying within the following described boundary:

Starting at the intersection of the western city limits and West Pioneer Avenue. East along West Pioneer Avenue to 13th Street SW. South along 13th Street SW to 7th Avenue SW. East along 7th Avenue SW to 15th Street SE. North along 15th Street SE to East Pioneer Avenue. Southeasterly along East Pioneer Avenue to the city limits at the intersection of East Pioneer Avenue and 25th Street SE. From such intersection, northerly, then westerly, then southerly along the city limits to the point of beginning.

District II. All the territory lying within the following described boundary:

Starting at the intersection of the western city limits and West Pioneer Avenue. East along West Pioneer Avenue to 13th Street SW. South along 13th Street SW to 7th Avenue SW. East along 7th Avenue SW to 15th Street SE. North along 15th Street SE to East Pioneer Avenue. Southeasterly along East Pioneer Avenue to the city limits at the intersection of East Pioneer Avenue and 25th Street SE. Southeasterly along the city limits to Shaw Road East. South along Shaw Road East to 23rd Avenue SE. West along 23rd Avenue SE and then 23rd Avenue SW to State Route 512. Southerly on State Route 512 to 31st Avenue SW. West along 31st Avenue SW to the intersection Fruitland Avenue East and the city limits. From such intersection, northerly along the city limits to the point of beginning.

District III. All the territory lying within the following described boundary:

Starting at the intersection of the northeastern city limits and Shaw Road East. South along Shaw Road East to 23rd Avenue SE. West along 23rd Avenue SE and then 23rd Avenue SW to State Route 512. Southerly along State Route 512 to 31st Avenue SW. West along 31st Avenue SW to the intersection Fruitland Avenue East and the city limits. From such intersection South, then easterly, then northerly along the city limits to the point of the beginning.

(2) Districts I, II, and III are, for illustrative purposes, identified in the map labeled as “Council Redistricting Option B,” dated May 27, 20111. Such map may be updated upon adoption of subsequent annexation ordinances assigning newly annexed territory to a particular district(s). The city clerk is authorized to approve the final form of such map in a manner consistent with the direction provided in the ordinance codified in this section. (Ord. 2985 § 1, 2011).
