D.A.R.E. FUND

3.60.010 Established.

There is established a new fund to be known as the “D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) fund”, referred to as “the fund”. (Ord. 2359 § 1, 1993).

3.60.020 Purpose.

The purpose of the fund shall be to receive periodic monetary contributions and receipts from the sale of promotional merchandise in the D.A.R.E. program and to disburse payments for the D.A.R.E. program expenditures. (Ord. 2500 § 1, 1996; Ord. 2359 § 2, 1993).

3.60.025 Acceptance of nonmonetary donations.

All nonmonetary donations must be approved by the city manager and/or the city council in accordance with the city’s policy regarding donations. (Ord. 2500 § 1, 1996).

3.60.030 Deposit of monies.

All monies received by the city of Puyallup from D.A.R.E. donations and benefit activities shall be deposited in the D.A.R.E. fund by the finance department. (Ord. 2500 § 1, 1996; Ord. 2359 § 3, 1993).

3.60.040 Use of monies.

All monies in the D.A.R.E. fund shall be used exclusively for the purchase of supplies, items to be sold for the purpose of revenue for the fund, costs of putting on benefit activities and any other uses the Puyallup police department deems necessary to carry on the substance abuse education activities of the fund. All expenditures shall be approved by the chief of police or his or her designee and upon authority of the Puyallup city council. Any remaining monies in said fund, when said fund is closed, shall be transferred to the general fund by resolution. (Ord. 2359 § 4, 1993).
