8.12.010 Restricted animals.

No cows, horses, mules, sheep, goats, swine, calves, steers, bulls or heifers shall be permitted to run at large within the corporate limits of the city, at any time during the day or night upon any of the streets, alleys or public places of the city. (Ord. 2463 § 1, 1995; Ord. 364 § 1, 1907; Ord. 293 § 1, 1904).

8.12.020 Impounding authority – Care.

It is unlawful for the owner or person having control or custody of any dog, cat, or other animal to allow such dog, cat, or other animal to enter or trespass upon private property without the express permission of the owner or caretaker of such property. Any such dog, cat or other animal may be seized and impounded. (Ord. 2463 § 1, 1995; Ord. 293 § 3, 1904).

8.12.030 Notice of impounding.

Upon impounding any animals under the terms of this chapter, the chief of police or his/her designee shall at once give notice of such impounding which notice shall contain a reasonable description of the impounded animal or animals; shall designate the time and place of sale, which shall not be less than seven days from the date of the notice; which notice shall be given, by posting one copy thereof at the pound where such animal is confined, one copy in a conspicuous place at the office of the city clerk and one copy in the lobby of the post office. 8.12.040 Violation – Punishment.
