2.48.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to establish a planning commission consisting of seven members with a term of office of six years. The planning commission is hereby established. Members shall be appointed by the mayor with confirmation by the council and may be removed from office for neglect of duty or malfeasance in office by the mayor with confirmation of the council after a public hearing. Vacancies occurring otherwise than through expiration of terms shall be filled for the unexpired term. (Ord. 1482-04 § 2, 2004; Ord. 1334-99 § 2, 1999: Ord. 1024 § 1, 1986)

2.48.020 Rules and meetings.

The board shall:

A.    Elect its own chairman;

B.    Operate under Robert’s Rules of Order unless other rules are adopted;

C.    Keep a full and accurate record of their proceedings;

D.    Designate regular monthly meeting dates; and

E.    Otherwise conform to all laws governing the conduct of public agencies. (Ord. 1482-04 § 3, 2004; Ord. 1344-99 § 3, 1999: Ord. 1024 § 2, 1986)

2.48.030 Duties and powers.

The duties and powers of the board shall be as established and conducted in accordance with RCW Chapter 35.63, which is incorporated in this chapter by reference, and the ordinances and resolutions of the city. (Ord. 1024 § 3, 1986)
