2.60.010 Established – Composition – Terms.

A. There is established a Senior Citizens Center Board to be comprised of five members. Initial members will serve for a three-year term, two shall serve for a two-year term, and one for a one-year term. After these initial terms, all terms shall be for three years. In addition, the City Recreation Coordinator will serve as a liaison member of the Senior Citizens Center Board in order to provide technical and administrative expertise.

B. The Boardmembers shall be selected by the Mayor, subject to Council approval of such selections. [Ord. 1304 § 1, 1981; 1956 Code § 2-701(A).]

2.60.020 Meetings.

The Board shall meet monthly at a regular time in public meeting. At least three days prior to each monthly meeting, notice of such meeting shall be given through one of the local news media. [1956 Code § 2-701(B).]

2.60.030 Powers and duties.

A. The Board shall govern the use of the Sunnyside Senior Citizen’s Center and shall make recommendations to the City Council concerning the use and general operation of the center.

B. The primary use of the Senior Citizens Center shall be for senior citizens; however, if time is available for the use of a part or all of the facility, the center may be scheduled for use for other civic functions that the Board deems appropriate.

C. Any decision made by the Board may, at the request of any person aggrieved by such, be reviewed by the City Council.

D. The City Council shall have the right to enact by resolution policy statements regarding the use and operations of the center, and the Board shall be bound thereby. [1956 Code § 2-701(C) – (F).]
