6.04.010 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to control animal noise in a manner which promotes commerce; the use, value and enjoyment of property; sleep and repose; and the quality of the environment. (Ord. 542 § 1, 1994).
6.04.020 Animal noises constituting a public disturbance.
It is unlawful for any person possessing or owning an animal or fowl to allow to originate from the property, the following sound or combination of sounds: Loud and raucous, or frequent repetitive, or continuous sounds created by animals or fowl, such as barking, howling, braying, quacking or crowing, which unreasonably disturbs or interferes with the peace, comfort or repose of another, and can be clearly heard by a person of normal hearing at a distance of 50 feet from the property where the sound originates. Said noise shall be per se unreasonable if it occurs continuously for five minutes or more between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Ord. 542 § 1, 1994).
6.04.030 Penalty.
