11.16.010 Interference or tampering with vehicle.

It is unlawful for any person individually, or in association with one or more others, to wilfully break, injure, tamper with, or remove any part or parts of any motor vehicle for the purpose of injuring, defacing, or destroying such vehicle, or temporarily or permanently prevent its useful operation or for any purpose against the will or without the consent of the owner of such vehicle, or in any other manner wilfully or maliciously interfere with or prevent the running or operation of such vehicle. 11.16.020 Sound control.

A.    No person shall drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless such motor vehicle is equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation and sufficient to prevent excessive or unusual noise and annoying smoke.

B.    It is unlawful to use a muffler cut-out on any motor vehicle on a highway.

C.    No person shall operate a motor vehicle in such a way as to disturb the peace between the hours of ten p.m. and six a.m. except when hauling supplies. Revving and racing of engines in residential areas shall be considered a violation. (Ord. 77-12 § 2 (part), 1977.)
