CHAPTER 3.20: UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE TRUST FUND

3.20.020    Requirements

3.20.010 ESTABLISHED; PURPOSE

There is created the unemployment insurance trust fund for the purpose of accounting for deposits made to the fund by the borough and the school district, and disbursements made from the fund.

3.20.020 REQUIREMENTS.

(A)    The Matanuska-Susitna Borough shall:

(1)    account for unemployment insurance deposits and disbursements within the fund by maintaining separate accounts for the borough and the school district;

(2)    credit the fund accounts of the borough and school district for interest earned on investments based on equity within the fund;

(3)    annually review the unemployment insurance trust fund and program the next year’s funding requirement within the appropriate annual budget to maintain sufficient balance to meet anticipated expenses; and

(4)    adhere to requirements of federal and state statutes to preserve the self-insurance program methods selected by the borough.
