ARTICLE VII.
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE AND RELATED CODES1

Sec. 5-101 Adopted.

The International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, second printing, is hereby adopted by the common council, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations outlining the responsibility of owners, operators and occupants, for the safe and sanitary maintenance of existing buildings and structures, and for administration, enforcement and penalties. Three (3) copies of this code are on file in the office of the city clerk.

Sec. 5-102 Amendments.

The International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition, is hereby amended in the following respects:

Chapter 1 – Scope and Administration

Amend Section 101.1, Title.

These regulations shall be known as the International Property Maintenance Code of the City of Kingman, hereinafter referred to as “this code.”

Delete Section 111.2, Membership of board.

Delete Section 111.2.1, Alternate members.

Delete Section 111.2.2, Chairman.

Amend Section 112.4, Failure to comply.

Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $150.00 dollars or more than $250.00 dollars.

Chapter 3 – General Requirements

Amend Section 302.4, Weeds.

Premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of six (6) inches. Noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided; however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.
