9.64.010 Furnishing tobacco to minor prohibited--Penalty.

Every person within the county who sells or gives, by way of barter, trade or otherwise, any cigarette or cigarettes, cigar or cigars, or tobacco in any form to any minor under the age of seventeen years, is guilty of a misdemeanor; and upon conviction thereof in any court of competent jurisdiction shall be punished by a fine not exceeding fifty dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding fifty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.  (Ord. 33 §1, 1889).

9.64.020 Informant to receive moneys.

Every person informing against any person found guilty under Section 9.64.010 shall receive one-half of any fine imposed against and collected from such guilty party.  (Ord. 33 §2, 1889).

9.64.030 Child under six in public places.

No person having the custody, control or care of any child under the age of six years shall allow the child to be upon any of the public streets or in any other public place in the county unless said child is under the custody, care or control of a person of the age of eighteen years or more.  (Ord. 268 §1, 1952).

9.64.040 Child under ten in motor vehicle.

No person shall permit or allow any child under the age of ten years to be in or about a vehicle upon the public streets or in a public place in the county unless said vehicle is attended by a person licensed to drive a vehicle by the state of California, Department of Motor Vehicles.  (Ord. 268 §2, 1952).

9.64.050 Custody of child--Address where parents may be reached.

No person shall leave any minor child in the care or custody of another without providing for his support and without advising said person with whom said child is left of the address of the parents, and where said parents may be contacted within a period of not exceeding twenty-four hours.  (Ord. 268 §3, 1952).
