DEFINITIONS

12.08.110 Total number of tire inches defined.
12.08.010 Section.
“Section” means a section of this title unless some other ordinance or statute is specifically mentioned. (Ord. 46 § 4, 1957)
12.08.020 Tenses.
The present tense includes the past and future tenses, and the future, the present. (Ord. 46 § 5, 1957)
12.08.030 Gender.
The masculine gender includes the feminine. (Ord. 46 § 6, 1957)
12.08.040 Number.
The singular number includes the plural, and the plural, the singular. (Ord. 46 § 7, 1957)
12.08.050 City.
“City” means the city of Cerritos, state of California. (Ord. 46 § 8, 1957)
12.08.060 County.
“County” means the county of Los Angeles, state of California. (Ord. 46 § 9, 1957)
12.08.070 Commissioner.
“Commissioner” means the road commissioner of the county of Los Angeles, or any other person duly authorized by the city council of the city of Cerritos to perform the functions and duties of the road commissioner as provided in this title. (Ord. 46 § 10, 1957)
12.08.080 Director.
“Director” means the director the department of parks and recreation of the county of Los Angeles, or any other person duly authorized by the city council to perform the functions and duties of the director of the department of parks and recreation as provided in this title. (Ord. 46 § 11, 1957)
12.08.090 Highway.
“Highway” means any public highway, public street, public way, or public place in the territory of the city, either owned by the city or dedicated to the public for the purpose of travel. (Ord. 46 § 12, 1957)
12.08.100 Person.
“Person” includes any individual, firm, copartnership, joint adventure, association, corporation, estate, trust, business trust, this state, any county, and all departments and bureaus thereof except the road department of the county of Los Angeles, city and county, municipality, district or other political subdivision thereof, or any other group or combination acting as a unit. 12.08.110 Total number of tire inches defined.
“Total number of tire inches” means that number calculated by adding the respective tire sizes as specified by the manufacture of all tires resting upon the surface of the highway. (Ord. 46 § 26, 1957)
