OTHER ANIMALS

32.20.010 Wild animals.
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to own, possess or maintain any venomous reptile.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person to own, possess or maintain any other wild animal, or animal not normally domesticated, unless he/she complies with all Federal, State and local laws, regulations, and permit requirements affecting such animals, or to fail to:
1. Keep the animal at all times in cages or enclosures of such size and construction or confined in such a manner as to preclude the possibility of escape. Such cages, enclosures or confinement shall be of such size as to permit the animals reasonable freedom of movement.
2. At all times provide the animal(s) with adequate food, water, and veterinary care and kept the animals in clean and sanitary conditions at all times.
3. Keep the animal(s) in a manner so as not to threaten or annoy any person of normal sensitivity.
4. Take adequate safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to the animal(s) and to preserve animal and public health, safety, and welfare.
5. In the event of escape of the animal(s), to notify immediately the Department and make every reasonable effort to recapture the animal(s).
6. Upon request by the Department, make available for inspection by the Department the animal(s), premises, facilities, equipment, and any required permit(s) for the purpose of ascertaining compliance with the provisions of this code.
7. Keep and transport the animal(s) only in escape-proof enclosures.
8. Publicly transport, carry, walk, or display the animal(s) without first obtaining prior Department authorization.
C. Wild animal(s) may be immediately impounded if in the opinion of the Department, it is necessary for the preservation of animal, other animals or public health, safety, or welfare. (Ord. 1885; Ord. 1665)
32.20.020 Livestock, fowl, bees.
A. It is unlawful and a nuisance for any person to keep, or cause to be kept, or to permit or suffer to be kept, or to maintain or control livestock, cattle, goats, poultry, peacock or other nondomesticated fowl within the limits of this City.
B. It is unlawful and a nuisance for any person to keep, or cause to be kept, or to permit or suffer to be kept, or to maintain or control any bees, or hive of or for bees, or any apiary within the limits of this City.
