14.06.010 2022 California Electrical Code adoption by reference.

The city adopts the 2022 Edition of the California Electrical Code, together with the amendments provided in this chapter, for the purpose of regulating all installation, arrangement, alteration, repair, use, and other operation of electrical wiring, connections, fixtures and other electrical appliances on premises within the city.

One copy of said code is on file in the office of the city clerk, and is hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter. 14.06.020 Amendments to the 2022 California Electrical Code.

14.06.030 Section 89.108 – Department of Housing and Community Development – Amended – Fees.

Subsection 89.108.4.2 is hereby amended and subsection 89.108.4.2.1 is hereby added to read as follows:

89.108.4.2 Permit fees. A fee for each electrical permit shall be established by resolution of the city council and may be amended from time to time. An additional permit application fee shall be charged for issued permit alterations.

89.108.4.2.1 Plan Review Fees. A fee for each plan review shall be established by resolution of the city council and may be amended from time to time. When plans are incomplete or the design is changed after submittal, additional plan review fees shall be charged as established by resolution of the city council.

14.06.040 Section 89.108 – Department of Housing and Community Development – Amended – Appeals board.

Subsection 89.108.8 is hereby amended to read as follows:

89.108.8 Appeals. Appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations of the building official are limited to those enumerated in Section 14.04.160 of the Covina Municipal Code, and shall be filed, scheduled, and conducted in accordance with said Section.

14.06.050 Section 89.108 – Department of Housing and Community Development – Amended – Actions and proceedings.

Subsection 89.108.9.2 is hereby amended to read as follows:

89.108.9.2 Violations and Penalties. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any provisions of this code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable in accordance with Chapter 1.16 of the Covina Municipal Code. The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans and specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of this code. No permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this code shall be valid, except insofar as the work or use which is authorized is lawful.
