FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES

14.13.010 Designation.
The city council hereby designates within the city of Covina a very high fire hazard severity zone (“FHSZ”) as required by California Government Code Section 51179 and as recommended by the Director of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The FHSZ is designated on a map titled “City of Covina FHSZ, Tile 1” (“FHSZ Map”). The FHSZ map is intended to be used in conjunction with the most current edition of the California Building Standards Code and supersedes any other maps previously adopted by the city of Covina designating high fire hazard areas. 14.13.020 Map.
The FHSZ map shall be retained on file with the office of the city clerk. (Ord. 08-1959 § 2, 2008.)
14.13.030 Notice to county.
The city shall post a notice at the office of the Los Angeles County recorder, Los Angeles County assessor, and Los Angeles County planning department identifying the location of the FHSZ map adopted pursuant to this chapter. (Ord. 08-1959 § 3, 2008.)
