2.01.010 City Hall designated.

A. That certain one (1) story building known and designated as 600 East A Street in the City is hereby designated as the City Hall in and for the City.

B. That certain room in the one (1) story building located at 600 East A Street in the City is hereby fixed and designated as the Council Chambers of the City Council of the City. [Ord. 07-003; City Code § 2.1.]

2.01.020 City logotype.

A. The City Council may establish or create, from time to time, a City logotype or insignia. The City of Dixon claims all rights and title, including copyrights and/or trademark, to such City logotype or insignia, and claims every right to control the use of any such City logotype or insignia.

B. The City name, seal, logotype or insignia shall not be used by any person without the express prior written permission of the City Manager. The City Manager shall not, however, permit the City name, seal, logotype or insignia to be used for any for-profit or political purpose. The City Council may permit the City name, seal, logotype or insignia to be used for a for-profit purpose by adoption of a written resolution. [Ord. 9213; Ord. 07-003; City Code §§ 2.2, 2.2.1.]

2.01.030 Council meetings.

The regular meetings of the City Council shall be held in the City Council Chambers on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Open sessions of regular meetings shall commence at 7:00 p.m.; closed sessions may begin earlier than 7:00 p.m., as needed, as long as the closed session items are agendized and the time for their consideration is specified in the agenda.

In the event that the first or third Tuesday of a month falls on a City-recognized holiday, the regular meeting shall be held on the next regular business day. The open session for the postponed regular session shall commence at 7:00 p.m.; a closed session may begin earlier than 7:00 p.m., as needed, as long as the closed session items are agendized and the time for their consideration is specified in the agenda. 2.01.040 Vacancy filling procedure.

A vacancy on the City Council may be filled by appointment or call of a special election in the manner prescribed by law. Alternatively, the City Council may appoint a person to fill a vacancy on the City Council to hold office only until the date of a special election, which shall be immediately called to fill the remainder of the term. The special election may be held on the date of the next regularly established municipal election or other regularly established election to be held in the City more than one hundred fourteen (114) days from the call of the special election. 2.01.050 City Councilmembers’ salaries.

A. Commencing on the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, each member of the City Council shall receive, as salary, the sum of five hundred ten dollars ($510.00) per month in accordance with the five percent (5%) salary increase per calendar year, which is authorized in Gov’t Code § 36516(a)(4) at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the City.

B. In accordance with the provisions of Gov’t Code § 36516.1, the elected Mayor of the City shall receive, as salary, the sum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) per month, which shall be payable at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the City.

C. An increase in the salary provided for in subsections A and B of this section shall be payable only on and after the date upon which any member of the City Council becomes eligible therefor, by virtue of beginning a new term of office, following the next succeeding general municipal election held in the City following the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section in which a Councilmember’s term expires.

D. The salaries prescribed in this section are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the City Council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses, including travel expenses, incurred by them in the performance of official duties for the City.

E. Any member of the City Council or the Mayor shall have the right to waive any and all of the salary or reimbursement provided for in this section. [Ord. 14-015 § 1.]

2.01.060 City Councilmembers’ health and welfare benefits.

A. Commencing on the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, the Mayor and members of the City Council shall be eligible for the City’s health and welfare benefits, as defined in Gov’t Code § 53200(d), on the same terms and under the same provisions as apply to the highest group of mid-managers in the City, except that the Mayor and members of the City Council are not eligible for retirement or life insurance benefits and benefits are extended only for the term(s) each City Councilmember or Mayor serves on the City Council. Health and welfare benefits will become effective on the first day of the month following the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section.

B. Any member of the City Council or the Mayor shall have the right to waive any and all of the health and welfare benefits provided for in this section. [Ord. 14-015 § 1.]
