TRAFFIC ORDINANCE TITLE AND AUTHORITY

10.04.010 Short title.
The ordinance will be codified in Chapters 10.04 through 10.64 EMC and Chapter 10.87 EMC, and shall be known as the traffic ordinance of the city and may be cited as such. (Ord. 158 § 1, 1984)
10.04.020 Termination of provisions requiring Department of Transportation approval.
Any provision of this title which regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in any way for which the approval of the Department of Transportation is required by law shall cease to be operative six months after receipt by the council of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Transportation. (Ord. 158 § 1, 1984)
10.04.030 Delegation of authority to city officers – Conditions.
Whenever this title delegates authority to a city officer or authorizes action by the city council to regulate traffic upon a state highway in any way which by law requires the prior approval of the Department of Transportation, no such officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such action by the city council be effective with respect to any state highway without the prior approval in writing of the Department of Transportation when and to the extent required by Divisions 9 and 11 of the Vehicle Code.
