14.27.010 Title.

This chapter shall be known and cited as the “Folsom Wildland Urban Interface Code.” (Ord. 1358 § 3, 2025)

14.27.020 Authority having jurisdiction.

The chief building official of the city is designated to be the authority having jurisdiction of the Folsom Wildland Urban Interface Code. The chief building official shall administer, enforce, and render interpretations of all the provisions of the Folsom Wildland Urban Interface Code and other referenced technical codes. 14.27.030 Purpose.

The purpose of this code is to establish minimum regulations for the safeguarding of life and for property protection. Regulations in this code are intended to mitigate the risk to life and structures from intrusion of fire from wildland fire exposures and fire exposures from adjacent structures and to mitigate structure fires from spreading to wildland fuels. The extent of this regulation is intended to be tiered commensurate with the relative level of hazard present.

This code shall supplement the city’s building and fire codes to provide for special regulations to mitigate the fire and life safety hazards of the wildland-urban interface areas. (Ord. 1358 § 3, 2025)

14.27.040 Adoption by reference.

The California Wildland Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition, published as Part 7, Title 24, C.C.R., published by the International Code Council, is adopted and made part of this title as though fully set forth herein to provide technical requirements and the procedures for administration and enforcement of the provisions of the Folsom construction codes. One copy of the Folsom Wildland Urban Interface Code and any amendments thereto shall be kept on file in the community development department and shall be available for use and examination by the public.
