2.30.010 TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE CREATED.

There is created a Technical Advisory Committee which shall function as an advisory body to the Planning Commission and City Council, and perform such other functions and duties as set forth in this chapter.

2.30.020 COMPOSITION AND APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

The members of the Technical Advisory Committee shall be as follows:

A.    Building Inspector,

B.    County Health Department designee,

C.    Community Development Director or designee,

D.    Police Chief or designee,

E.    Director of Public Works or designee, and

F.    Fire Chief or designee.

2.30.030 QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS.

Each member of the Technical Advisory Committee shall be employed by the particular agency at the time of his or her appointment and during his or her incumbency.

2.30.040 VACANCIES.

Should a vacancy occur on the Technical Advisory Committee and the seat remains vacant for a period of 30 days without being filled by appointment for any reason, the Chair shall have the authority to appoint an alternative member. Any person so appointed by the chair to fulfill the vacancy shall be terminated upon employment by an individual to permanently fill the position vacated.

2.30.050 CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR.

The Technical Advisory Committee shall elect one (1) of its members as Chair and one (1) of its members as Vice Chair of the Committee. In case of the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chair shall act as the Chair.

2.30.060 MEETINGS - MAINTAINING PUBLIC RECORD.

The Technical Advisory Committee shall meet at least once a month at such time and place as it may fix by resolution, and shall cause a record to be kept of all of its proceedings, which record shall be a public record. Staff shall be the body utilized by the Committee to cause the record to be made.

2.30.070 GENERAL DUTIES.

The Technical Advisory Committee shall function as an advisory board to City staff on temporary activities such as carnivals, circuses or other similar events.

2.30.080 ABSENCE FROM MEETINGS.

In the event a member of the Committee does not attend meetings for a period of 60 days, unless excused for cause by the chair of the Committee, the Chair will notify the supervisor of the Committee member advising him or her of those unexcused absences.

Appeals for actions of the Technical Advisory Committee shall be in accordance with Title 18 of the Fort Bragg Municipal Code.
