MECHANICAL AMUSEMENT DEVICES

5.12.010 License – Required.

No coin-operated mechanical amusement devices shall be permitted to be used or be available for use by any person within the corporate limits of the city without first being licensed by the city. (Ord. 311, 1969. Code 1961 § 9-38).

5.12.020 License – Application.

Prior to the issuance of any license for any type of mechanical amusement device pursuant to this chapter, the person desiring to make available in his place of business a mechanical amusement device shall file an application with the city clerk. Such application shall require the person to satisfy the chief of police in regard to his qualifications and the location where any such mechanical amusement devices shall be permitted or used. (Code 1961 § 9-39).

5.12.030 License – Monthly fee.

After the permit provided for by this chapter has been granted, the applicant thereof shall be entitled to the issuance of a license for each of the mechanical amusement devices upon payment of the sum of $2.50 per month for the use of each such device. (Ord. 325, 1970. Code 1961 § 9-41).

5.12.040 Payoff devices prohibited.

No person shall install, operate, or maintain any mechanical amusement device which contains a payoff device for the return of slugs, money, coins, checks, tokens or merchandise. (Code 1961 § 9-49).
