2.04.010 Meetings – Time.

The city council shall meet regularly twice monthly on the days and at the times fixed by resolution of the city council at the place designated by resolution of the city council. (Ord. 419, 1992; Ord. 237 § 1, 1956).

2.04.020 Meetings – Special.

Special meetings of the city council may be held at any time upon the call of the mayor or of any three members of the city council delivered to the city clerk who shall thereupon in writing deliver a notice to each of the members of the city council stating the time and place of such special meeting, and if any member of the city council cannot be found at his residence or place of business in the city, then such notice may be served by the city clerk by leaving the notice at the residence or place of business of such member of the city council. The notice of special meeting must be served not less than six hours before the holding of the special meeting. (Ord. 237 § 2, 1956).

2.04.030 Vacancy.

A. If a vacancy occurs in an appointive office, the council shall fill the vacancy by appointment. A person appointed to fill a vacancy holds office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent.

B. If a vacancy occurs in an elective office, the council shall, within 30 days of the commencement of the vacancy, either fill the vacancy by appointment or call a special election to fill the vacancy. The special election shall be held on the next regularly established election date not less than 114 days from the call of the special election. A person appointed or elected to fill a vacancy holds office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent. (Ord. 468 § 2, 2009).
