CIVIL EMERGENCIES

9.90.010 Creation of offices.
There is established the offices of director of civil emergencies and assistant director of civil emergencies. The office of director of civil emergencies shall be held by the mayor of the city and the office of assistant director shall be held by the mayor pro tempore of the city. (Ord. 359 § 1, 1979).
9.90.020 Powers.
The director of civil emergencies and, in his absence, the assistant director of civil emergencies, during any period of civil emergency declared by resolution of the city council is empowered to adopt emergency rules and regulations relating to the establishment of animal control measures for the duration of the emergency. The director and, in his absence, the assistant director, may suspend those applicable sections of HMC Title 7 for the duration of the emergency. (Ord. 366 § 1, 1980; Ord. 359 § 1, 1979).
