2.24.010 Created.

A City Planning Commission is created. [Ord. 539 § 1, 1975].

2.24.020 Membership.

The Planning Commission shall consist of five members who shall not be officials or employees of the City and shall legally reside within the City limits of the City of Lake Elsinore or be the owner of a business that is established and currently licensed inside the City limits. [Ord. 743 § 1; Ord. 539 § 2, 1975].

2.24.030 Appointment – Removal.

The members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of a majority of the members of the City Council and may be removed by the mayor at his pleasure, but subject to the approval by a majority of the members of the City Council. [Ord. 539 § 3, 1975].

2.24.040 Term of office.

The members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed for a term of four years. Of the present Commissioners, three members’ terms will expire on June 30, 1976, and two members’ terms will expire on June 30, 1978. The designation of the present members of the Planning Commission as to their expiration dates shall be designated by the Mayor with the approval of the majority of the Council upon the effective date of the ordinance codified herein, and by minute order. 2.24.050 Powers and duties.

The Planning Commission shall have the powers and duties set forth in Title 7, Chapters 3 and 4 of the Government Code of the State. [Ord. 539 § 5, 1975].

2.24.060 Approval of obligations, expenses.

No obligations or expenses of any kind shall be incurred by the Planning Commission unless first authorized and approved by the City Council in writing. [Ord. 539 § 6, 1975].

2.24.070 Compensation.

Council shall from time to time, by resolution, fix the compensation of Planning Commissioners. [Ord. 539 § 7, 1975].
