LICENSE COLLECTING SUPERVISION.

Under the direction of the city council, the city manager shall assign the duties of license collecting supervision to any employee or elected official, except a councilman. License collecting supervision shall be in two (2) categories as defined below, shall be compensated as determined by resolution of the city council and shall be treated as “special assignment.”

a. Business License Supervisor: Business license supervisor shall monitor the work of the license representative of the city. The duties of the business license representative shall be defined as follows:

1. The business license representative is charged with the duty of carrying out the provisions and enforcement of this chapter.

2. It shall be the duty of the business license representative to cause a complaint to be filed against any person found to be violating any of the provisions of this chapter.

3. The business license representative, in the exercise of the duties imposed by this chapter, shall have the power and authority to enter at any reasonable time any place of business required to be licensed under this chapter to ascertain whether this chapter has been complied with, and to request exhibition of the license. The business license representative shall carry out any other assigned duties that are relevant to the administration of this section.

b. Dog License Collector Supervisor: The dog license collector shall monitor the work of the city employee(s) charged with administering chapter 8 of this code. The employee(s) charged with executing the mandates of chapter 8 of this code shall be as follows:

1. To carry out the provisions and the enforcement of chapter 8 of this code;

2. To cause a complaint to be filed against any person found to be violating any of the provisions of chapter 8 of this code;

3. To exercise the duties required by chapter 8 of this code and shall have the power to abate any infractions of the provisions of chapter 8 of this code;

4. To carry out any other assigned duties relevant to chapter 8 of this code. (Code 1972 §17-2; Ord. #1168, §1)
