16.40.010 Fireworks prohibited.

No person without first obtaining a permit from the director of public works or the fire chief, shall possess, sell, use, display or explode any rocket, firecracker, roman candle, squib, torpedo, torpedo cane, fire balloon, wire core sparkler, wooden core sparkler, black cartridge or other combustible device or explosive substance of any kind of fireworks, by whatsoever name known on city-owned property around:

(1)    Ellis Lake which property lies generally between Fourteenth Street and Ninth Street and B Street and D Street in the city; and

(2)    North Ellis Lake which property lies generally between Sixteenth Street and Fourteenth Street and C Street and E Street in the city. (Ord. 1202 (part), 1995).

16.40.020 Penalty for violation.

Any person violating this section is guilty of an infraction and shall be punished by a fine of up to two hundred fifty dollars. (Ord. 1202 (part), 1995).

16.40.030 Signs.

The director of public works is authorized and directed to place and maintain appropriate signs giving notice of the prohibition against the possession, sale, use, display or explosion of fireworks imposed by this section. (Ord. 1202 (part), 1995).
