STOP AND YIELD—REQUIREMENTS—SIGNS

12.36.010 Stop Signs.
The City Traffic Engineer is authorized to approve the installation, removal, erection and maintenance of stop signs conforming to the requirements of California Vehicle Code Section 21400 at the entrances to any or all through highways and stop intersections as in the City Traffic Engineer’s opinion are reasonably necessary for the protection and safety of the traveling public.
In accordance with California Vehicle Code Section 21354, all major, primary and secondary streets and highways of the City as shown on the County Master Plan of Arterial Highways, originally adopted by resolution of the County Board of Supervisors on May 31, 1956, on file in the office of the County Clerk, are hereby declared to be through highways together with such other highways as the City Council may by resolution from time to time declare to be through highways. 12.36.020 Yield Right-of-Way Signs.
The City Traffic Engineer is authorized to determine those locations where the safe and orderly movement of traffic requires vehicles to yield the right-of-way to other traffic and to install, remove, erect and maintain yield signs conforming to the requirements of California Vehicle Code Section 21400. 12.36.030 Through Streets and Alleys Designated.
The following streets, alleys or alleyways are hereby designated as through streets:
Balboa Boulevard: from State Highway ORA-60-A to Channel Road.
Newport Boulevard: from Short Street to Balboa Boulevard.
Santa Ana Avenue: from Newport Boulevard to 15th Street.
Clay Street: from Westminster Avenue to Irvine Avenue.
Riverside Avenue: from State Highway ORA-60-A to Cliff Drive.
Cliff Drive: from Riverside Avenue to Irvine Avenue.
Tustin Avenue: from Cliff Drive to 15th Street.
Marine Avenue: from Bayside Drive to South Speedway.
Balboa Avenue: from Collins Avenue to Marine Avenue.
Park Avenue: from Emerald Avenue to Jade Avenue.
Carnation Avenue: from Bayside Drive to Coast Boulevard.
Seaview Avenue: from Carnation Avenue to Poppy Avenue.
Marguerite Avenue: from Ocean Boulevard to 5th Street.
Bay Avenue: from Main Street to 8th Street.
Via Lido Nord, from and including Via Antibes to and including Strada Zurich.
Via Lido Soud from and including Via Antibes to and including Strada Zurich.
