OFF-ROAD USE OF VEHICLES

10.28.010 Prohibition.

It is unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle, as defined under Section 415 of the Vehicle Code, on lands belonging to or occupied by another person without prior written permission of the owner of such land or his agent or the person in lawful possession thereof, except as provided in Section 10.28.020. (Ord. 258 Sec. 2, 1973)

10.28.020 Exemptions.

This chapter shall not apply to:

(1)    Persons who have lawful business with the owner of land or his agent or the person in lawful possession thereof;

(2)    Public or private lands expressly set apart for use of motor vehicles pursuant to any zoning, permit or licensing procedure of the city of Norco;

(3)    Vehicles used for agricultural purposes, vehicles used for grading or construction purposes, vehicles used for public utility purposes, vehicles used for governmental purposes or golf carts used on golf courses;

(4)    Emergency vehicles as defined under Section 165 of the Vehicle Code. (Ord. 258 Sec. 3, 1973)

10.28.030 Government land.

This chapter shall not be deemed to interfere with the right of any government agency to regulate, prohibit or permit use of motor vehicles on lands owned, controlled or under jurisdiction of such government agency. (Ord. 258 Sec. 4, 1973)
