20.50.010 Equestrian historic district designation criteria.

An area may be designated an equestrian historic district by the City Council if it exemplifies or reflects special elements of the City’s cultural, social, economic, political, aesthetic, engineering, architectural or natural history. (Ord. 1071 Sec. 1, 2021)

20.50.020 Equestrian historic district contributors.

A.    Equestrian trails on at least one side of most public streets.

B.    Equestrian trail fencing on at least one side of most trails along public streets.

C.    City parks with equestrian improvements.

D.    Large lots, 20,000 square feet or larger, or legal nonconforming lots of less than 20,000 square feet. (Ord. 1071 Sec. 1, 2021)

20.50.030 Equestrian historic district purposes.

A.    The preservation of Norco’s historical equestrian and agrarian lifestyle.

B.    The preservation of Norco’s heritage of large lots with dedicated space for animal keeping.

C.    The preservation of Norco’s heritage of equestrian trails and trail improvements.

D.    The preservation of Norco’s parks with equestrian amenities. (Ord. 1071 Sec. 1, 2021)

20.50.040 Boundary.

Based upon the foregoing, an equestrian historic district boundary is hereby established, set forth in Appendix “A.”
