9.32.010 Shooting arrows or missiles.

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, no person shall within the incorporated limits of the City shoot any arrow or similar missile and no person, firm or corporation shall cause or permit any arrow or similar missile to be shot at any place within 200 yards of any public highway, private street used by the general public, recreational area, park, riding and hiking trail, dwelling house, camp or place of human habitation, except when the arrow is shot from and at all times remains on or over, and lands upon, private property or portion thereof, when permission has been granted by the property owner. 9.32.020 Air guns and pellet guns.

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, it is unlawful in the City for any person to fire, discharge, shoot or operate, or to assist or participate in the firing, discharging, shooting, or for any person under 18 years of age without direct adult supervision to have in his or her possession, care, custody, or control, any spring gun, air gun, sling, slingshot or device designed or intended to discharge, or capable of discharging, any dangerous missile, including but not limited to pellets or BBs. 9.32.030 Discharging firearms.

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, no person shall shoot, fire or discharge and no person, firm or corporation shall cause or permit to be shot, fired or discharged within the incorporated boundaries of the City, any rifle, shotgun, revolver, pistol or firearm of any kind. (Ord. 93 § 3, 1966)

9.32.040 Exception.

This chapter, except as otherwise provided, does not prohibit the discharge of any rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver or firearm of any kind or the shooting of any arrow or other missile when necessary so to do to protect life or property or to destroy or kill any predatory or dangerous animal. (Ord. 93 § 4, 1966)

9.32.050 Target shooting.

The provisions of this chapter shall not be deemed or construed to prohibit the establishment or maintenance of any pistol, rifle, shotgun or target range, nor to prohibit the discharge of such weapons at any target thereon, by any person using the range. (Ord. 93 § 5, 1966)

9.32.060 Penalty for violation.

Every person, firm, or corporation violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not to exceed six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 93 § 6, 1966)
