2.20.010 Appointment.

The superintendent of streets of the city shall be appointed by the city manager after first reviewing the appointment with the city council. (Ord. 247 § I, 1974: Ord. 21 § 1, 1920).

2.20.020 Duties.

The superintendent of streets of the city shall have supervision over the upkeep, maintenance and care of all the streets and alleys of the city, together with the sidewalks adjacent to the streets and alleys. He shall make frequent inspections thereof and shall report to the city council,* in writing, at least once each month, the condition of the streets, alleys and sidewalks; the amount, nature and cost of all repairs made thereon since the last report; a statement of any needed repairs together with an estimate of cost of same; and also any additional information, recommendations or suggestions that he may deem advisable. He shall supervise such work on the streets and alleys as the city council* may direct, and shall perform such other duties as are now or may hereafter be required of him by ordinance or by resolution or motion of the city council.* (Ord. 21 § 2, 1920).
