VIOLATIONS—PENALTY

16.96.010 Designated.

Any offer to sell, contract to sell, or sale contrary to the provisions of this title shall be a misdemeanor and any person, firm, corporation, partnership or copartnership who violates any of the provisions or does any of the acts so declared to be a misdemeanor, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars and not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment; except, that nothing contained in this section shall be deemed to bar any legal, equitable or summary remedy to which the city or other political subdivision or any person, firm, corporation, partnership or copartnership may otherwise be entitled, and the city or any other political subdivision or person, firm, corporation, partnership or copartnership may file a suit in the superior court of the county to restrain or enjoin any attempted or proposed subdivision or sale in violation of this title.
