8.30.010 Street damage and cleanup.

A. As a condition of the issuance of a building permit, the permit holder shall be responsible for any damage to the City streets, curbs, gutters, catchbasins or other installations as a result of construction performed under the authority of the permit.

B. If any firm or corporation performing construction under authority of the building permit causes damage to any City installation or facility or that dirt or debris has accumulated in the City streets, gutters or catchbasins, the Building Official shall order the permit holder to promptly repair such damage or remove such debris.

C. In the event the holder of the building permit fails to repair such damage or remove such debris, the Building Official may order cessation of construction until clean up or repair is completed. If construction has been completed, the Building Official shall withhold final approval of the project until repair or removal has been accomplished or shall require a cash deposit in an amount determined by the City Engineer to be necessary to complete the repair work. In the event the repair is not completed within a time frame established by the City Engineer, the City Engineer is authorized to complete the repairs and collect the cost thereof from the posted security.
