GUARD DOGS

8.08.010 Where prohibited.
A. No person shall keep or use any guard dog or guard dogs on any commercially or industrially zoned property which is located within 300 feet of any property zoned for residential use.
B. For the purposes of this chapter, the term “guard dog” means any dog kept or used, or intended to be kept or used, by a person for the purposes of securing or attempting to secure property from intruders. Guard dogs shall not include dogs brought onto the property by the owner, lessee or manager of the property during those times when the owner, lessee or manager is on the premises and actively conducting business. 8.08.020 Applicability.
The provisions of this chapter apply notwithstanding any local law or ordinance which may be construed as permitting guard dogs in commercially or industrially zoned property. (Ord. 56 § 2, 1987)
