9.68.010 Inducing others to quit employment.

It is unlawful for any person to watch, beset, or picket the premises of another where any person is employed, or any approach thereto, or any place where such employee lodges or resides, or any approach thereto, for the purpose of inducing any such employee, by compulsion, threats, coercion, intimidation, or by any act of violence, or by putting such employee in fear, to quit his or her employment or to refrain from seeking or freely entering into employment. 9.68.020 Inducing others to refrain from patronizing.

It is unlawful for any person to watch, beset, or picket the premises of another, or any approach thereto, for the purpose of inducing others to refrain from entering such premises, or from patronizing, transacting business with or negotiating with the owner or occupant of such premises. (Ord. 191 § 2, 1937).

9.68.030 Assembling to coerce others to quit employment.

It is unlawful for any person, in association or agreement with one or more persons, to assemble, congregate, or meet together in the vicinity of any premises where other persons are employees or upon the streets, approaches or places adjacent thereto for the purpose of inducing any such employee, by compulsion, threats, coercion, intimidation or by any act of violence, or by putting such employee in fear, to quit his or her employment therein or to refrain from seeking or freely entering into employment therein. 9.68.040 Assembling to coerce others from patronizing.

It is unlawful for any person, in association or agreement with one or more persons, to assemble, congregate, or meet together in the vicinity of the premises of another, or upon the streets, approaches, or places adjacent thereto, for the purpose of inducing others to refrain from entering such premises or from patronizing, transacting business with, or negotiating with the owner or occupant of such premises. (Ord. 191 § 4, 1937).

9.68.050 Profane language prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to utter to, or within the hearing of another, any derogatory, profane, indecent, opprobrious epithets or language, or to use any gestures, or to make demonstrations of any kind for the purpose of inducing any person, by means of compulsion, coercion, intimidation, threats, acts of violence, or fear, to quit his or her employment or to refrain from seeking or freely entering into employment, or to refrain from patronizing, negotiating with, or transacting business with any other person. (Ord. 191 § 5, 1937).

9.68.060 Processions prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to form, or to aid in forming, or to ride in any parade or procession of two or more motor vehicles formed or moving along any public street or highway for the purpose of inducing any person by means of compulsion, coercion, intimidation, or fear, from entering into, or carrying on his employment, upon or about any place of business, packing shed, dwelling, or any other premises or place of employment. (Ord. 191 § 6, 1937).

9.68.070 Penalty for violation.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1.12 SMC. (Ord. 191 § 8, 1937).
