CHAPTER 11. CIRCUS AND CARNIVAL OPERATORS

ARTICLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

6-11-1000 APPLICATION OF GENERAL PROVISIONS:

Unless the provisions of this Chapter provide otherwise, all of the provisions of Chapter 1 of this Part are applicable to the licenses referred to in this Chapter.

6-11-1010 LICENSE REQUIRED:

Any person who operates or conducts a circus or carnival within the County shall have a valid license to engage in such business.

ARTICLE 2. APPLICATION; FEES; TERM

6-11-2000 APPLICATION: FORM:

In addition to the information required by Chapter 1 of this Part, the application shall include all of the following information:

(a)    The dates for which the license is desired.

(b)    The location at which the circus or carnival will be conducted.

(c)    A description of each food distribution booth that will be operated on the business premises.

(d)    The type and number of public drinking facilities to be used.

(e)    The type, number and location of toilet facilities that will be available for use by each sex.

(f)    A description of the provisions to be made for general sanitation of the grounds, booths and structures and for the disposal of garbage.

6-11-2010 SAME: EXEMPTION:

An applicant who files an application on behalf of any bona fide charitable, patriotic, educational, benevolent, or fraternal organization, pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter, shall not be required to furnish the information required in subdivision (e) of section 6-01-2000, or section 6-01-2020, nor to be subject to the investigation required in paragraph (4) of subdivision (a) of section 6-01-2010, nor to pay the fee required in section 6-01-3000 of this Part.

6-11-2020 LICENSE FEE: TERM:

The term of each license issued pursuant to this Chapter shall be for certain specified dates rather than an annual license. The fees for a license to operate a circus or carnival shall be set from time to time by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

6-11-2030 SAME: EXEMPTION:

No license fee shall be charged for a license issued pursuant to this Article to any bona fide charitable, patriotic, educational, benevolent, or fraternal organization.
