§3074 DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply:

OWNER: The owner of real property as shown on the last equalized assessment roll maintained by the Mendocino county assessor.

POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS BUILDING: Any building constructed prior to the adoption by the city of Ukiah of the California building code provisions requiring earthquake resistant design of buildings and constructed of unreinforced masonry bearing walls.

UNREINFORCED MASONRY BEARING WALL: A masonry wall having all of the following characteristics:

A. Provides the vertical support for a floor or roof.

B. The total superimposed load is over one hundred (100) pounds per linear foot.

C. The area of reinforcing steel is less than fifty percent (50%) of that required by the California building code for reinforced masonry. (Ord. 897, §1, adopted 1989; Ord. 1103, §1, adopted 2007)
