COMPENSATION OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEMBERS

2.10.010 Mayor and Councilmembers—Compensation.

A.    Mayor.

1.    Commencing on May 1, 2002, the Mayor shall receive a salary of one thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250) per month, and shall continue to be afforded the opportunity to participate in the city’s health insurance plans at the expense of the city;

2.    The person serving as Mayor is defined as any individual properly elected or appointed to that office consistent with the provisions of the City Charter; and

3.    In the event that the Mayor is unable to perform the duties of the office for a period of fifteen (15) days or more in any one (1) calendar month, the compensation of the Mayor for that calendar month may be paid to the person who serves in that capacity, and the Mayor will then receive the compensation established for the office of Councilmember for that calendar month. This action is implemented by the Mayor notifying the City Clerk or by a two-thirds vote of the City Council.

B.    Councilmembers. Commencing on May l, 2002, each Councilmember shall receive a salary of one thousand dollars ($1,000) per month, and shall continue to be afforded the opportunity to participate in the city’s health insurance plans at the expense of the city.
