5-20-010 License—Required.

No person shall operate, maintain or conduct a billiard table, a pool table, or any other similar gaming table, open to the public without having first obtained a license therefor as is herein provided. All applications for such a license shall be made in writing to the clerk and shall state thereon the intended location of the place of business and the number of tables to be used therein. 5-20-020 License.

All such licenses shall be issued upon thorough investigation of the applicant or the local representative thereof, and found to be of good character. The license fee shall be three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00). (Ord. 3316 § 2 (part), 2015: Ord. 2227, 1981)

5-20-030 Fee.

The annual license fee to operate, maintain or conduct a billiard table, a pool table or any other similar gaming table shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). (Ord. 3316 § 2 (part), 2015: Ord. 3221 § 9, 2009; Ord. 2770 § 1 (part), 1992: Ord. 1921 (part), 1972; prior code § 5-5-2)

5-20-040 Hours for operation.

No person shall keep such a place open for business on a Sunday except during the hours from one-thirty p.m. to eleven p.m.; and no such place shall be kept open between the hours of twelve midnight and six-thirty a.m. of any day. (Prior code § 5-5-4)

5-20-050 Permitted persons.

Persons under the age of twenty-one (21) years shall under no circumstances frequent, loiter, go to or remain in any hall licensed hereunder at any time, unless accompanied by their parents and/or legal guardian or other person having the lawful custody of said minor, and it is unlawful for the proprietor to allow such minor to frequent, loiter or remain within the hall in violation of this section. 5-20-060 Violation—Penalty.

A.    For the first violation hereof the licensee shall be fined no less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) and no more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).

B.    For any second violation hereof within a twelve (12) month period, the license hereunder shall be revoked. (Ord. 3316 § 2 (part), 2015; Ord. 2200 (part), 1980)
