15-68-010 Building permit fees.

The fees for building permits based on the cost of construction or repair or demolition of any structure, i.e., buildings, fences, sidewalks, signs, and the like, are as follows:

$50.00 for less than $1,000.00 and

3% the cost of the total job

 

Clean Up Deposit

$75.00 for up to $1,000.00

$250.00 for more than $1,000.00

Demolition Permit Fees

8% the cost of the total job

15-68-020 Contractors’ work permit.

The fee for contractors’ work permits is as follows:

General contractors

 

Full year

All contractors are required to have a twenty thousand dollar ($20,000.00) surety bond and one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) of general liability insurance.

Plumbing contractors must be state licensed.

A ten thousand dollar ($10,000.00) plumber’s liability bond is required.

Electrical fees in residential, commercial and manufacturing districts are as follows:

The inspection fee for the installation of signs is as follows:

The fees for installation of plumbing and plumbing work are as follows:

15-68-080 Planning and zoning commission matters.

The fees for plan commission/zoning board of appeals are as follows:

15-68-090 Fees for large construction projects.

The permit fees set forth in Sections 15-68-030, 15-68-050 and 15-68-060 of this chapter shall be reduced by fifty (50) percent of the amounts set forth therein for all construction the cost of which exceeds five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00). (Ord. 2454 § 2, 1986)

15-68-100 Payment of fees.

A.    Permit fees shall be paid prior to the commencement of the work or construction. In the event that the work or construction is commenced without the required permit or permits, an additional permit fee equal to fifty (50) percent of the original permit fee shall be charged. The additional permit fee provided for herein shall be in addition to any permit fees or penalties otherwise provided for in this chapter.

B.    Fees. When plans are submitted for approval under these codes, or when special engineering studies are deemed by the building official to be needed for the issuance of permits or approvals, said fee shall be the normal and customary fee charged by a firm with specialized expertise. The applicant shall be informed of the amount of the fee at the time that this application is filed. The fee schedule for specific improvement or construction is set forth in this chapter and is incorporated by reference herein. (Ord. 2932 § 2, 1995; Ord. 2444 § 1, 1986)
