150.01    State Plumbing Code adopted

150.02    Bond required

150.01 STATE PLUMBING CODE ADOPTED.

The State Plumbing Code published by the State Department of Public Health, and all amendments thereto, are hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter. Three copies of the State Plumbing Code shall be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection. Any person who violates any provision of the State Plumbing Code shall be subject to the penalties provided for violation of this code.

150.02 BOND REQUIRED.

No licensed plumber shall make any connection to or with the city sewer system or make any excavation in any street or alley for any purpose, unless the plumber shall have executed to the city a good and sufficient bond in the penal sum of $1,000 with sureties to be approved by the Mayor and City Council, conditioned for the faithful observance of all the requirements of this code regulating plumbing and sewers and conditioned to indemnify, save and keep harmless the city from any loss, cost, damage, expense or liability of any kind which the city may suffer, or which may accrue against it, be charged to or recovered from the city from or by reason of anything done by such licensed plumber in connection with any drain or pipe or connections with the sewer system of the city, or which may arise from or by reason of any negligence on the part of such licensed plumber in not maintaining barriers and warning signals around any excavation or opening which has been made by him in any street, alley or public way within the city, and conditioned further to restore the surface of any street, sidewalk or roadway wherever the same shall have been disturbed by him in and about the doing of any work, and conditioned further, to do such work of restoration to the satisfaction and approval of the Public Works Director within two weeks after its disturbance, weather permitting, otherwise such work to be done by the city and the charge assessed to the plumber. No permit shall be issued to any plumber to do any work requiring the disturbance of any street, alley or public way or alteration, repairing or location of any drain pipe or connection with the sewer system of the city unless such bond is in full force and effect and on file in the office of the Clerk.
