FIREARMS ON CITY PROPERTY

12.08.010 PROHIBITION.

No person shall carry a concealed firearm in or on any property, park, building, or portion of a building now or hereafter owned, leased as lessee, operated, occupied, managed, or controlled by the city, as well as the appurtenant premises to such buildings, upon which appropriate signage has been placed indicating that concealed firearms are prohibited therein.

12.08.020 SIGNS REQUIRED.

Signs shall be visibly posted on the exterior of each entrance by which the general public can access the building, appurtenant premise, or park. The city shall exercise discretion in determining the necessity and appropriate location for other signs posted on the interior of the building, appurtenant premise, or park.

12.08.030 EXEMPTIONS.

(A) The prohibitions set forth in this chapter shall not apply to persons who are exempt from concealed weapons prohibitions under state or federal law or to any duly authorized local, state, or federal law enforcement officer while on duty.

(B) The prohibitions set forth in this chapter shall not apply to highways or public highways owned or administered by the city.
