PAYMENT OF MEMBERSHIP DUES AND OTHER FEES WITH COUNTY FUNDS

2.99.010 Guidelines.

The Board may adopt ordinances establishing certain guidelines concerning the use of County funds for the payment of membership dues on behalf of County officeholders, County employees or other County bodies.

2.99.020 Use of funds--Generally.

County funds shall not be used for the payment of individual professional organization or association dues if such membership is not specifically related to the particular duties of said County official, County employee or County body.

2.99.030 Use of funds--Bar association membership dues.

County funds shall not be used to pay individual membership dues to organizations or associations such as the Evansville Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association or American Bar Association on behalf of the Circuit Court Judge, Superior Court Judges, County Magistrates, the County Prosecutor, Deputy Prosecutors, Superior Court Administrator, Legal Aid Society attorneys or any other attorney employed by the County.

2.99.040 Use of funds--Annual disciplinary fees.

With the exception of the County Prosecutor and full-time Deputy County Prosecutors, County funds shall not be used for the payment of annual disciplinary fees to the Indiana Supreme Court on behalf of the Circuit Court Judge, Superior Court Judges, County Magistrates, Superior Court Administrator, Legal Aid Society attorneys or any other attorney employed by the County.

2.99.050 County fiscal body authority.

The County fiscal body may designate which specific professional organizations or associations for which County funds may be appropriated to pay membership dues on behalf of County officeholders, County employees or other County bodies so long as the payment of such dues is for the betterment and improvement of County government.
