LANDLORDS IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE CITY UTILITIES

13.35.01 Definition.
For the purpose of this chapter, utility service shall include water, sewer, cable television and trash services provided by the City of Baxter Springs. (Ord. 907 § 1)
13.35.02 Owner requirements.
Owners of premises served by utility services under this chapter who own property for rent to third parties shall be current on their own utility bills for service at their residence or rental property, prior to and before the city will turn on utility services to any of the owner’s rental properties. This requirement only applies to utility services incurred on the behalf of the owner or in the owner’s name. No owner shall be responsible for a tenant’s utility expenses or charges. (Ord. 907 § 2)
