2.40.010 Social Security.

The City of Gardner hereby extends the benefits of Title II of the Federal Social Security Act, in conformity with the applicable provisions of such Act, to the employees of said City, according to the provisions of House Bill No. 500, Session Laws of Kansas, 1951. (Code 1990 § 1-601)

2.40.020 Employees retirement – Resolution.

Resolution No. 635, passed by the Governing Body and published on June 14, 1967, extends the benefits of the Kansas Public Retirement System to the City of Gardner. Said resolution is incorporated by reference herein and made a part thereof as if the same had been set out in full therein. (Code 1990 § 1-602)

2.40.030 Personnel rules and regulations.

The personnel rules and regulations of the City of Gardner, Kansas, shall hereinafter be adopted by City resolution and shall govern the terms of employment of persons employed by said City to provide municipal service. Said rules and regulations may from time to time hereinafter be revised or amended as deemed necessary by the Governing Body. Such amendments or revisions shall take effect upon passage of a resolution by the Governing Body. (Ord, 1538 § 1. Code 1990 § 1-603)

2.40.040 Adoption of pay scale.

The pay scale of the various City officers and employees shall be established by City ordinance and the wage adjustments of the various officers and employees within the appropriate pay scale will be made by resolution in accordance with the official personnel rules and regulations of the City of Gardner. (Code 1990 § 1-604)

2.40.050 Safety rules and regulations.

The safety rules and regulations for the employees of the City of Gardner, Kansas, shall hereinafter be adopted by City resolution and shall provide a basic foundation for the City’s loss prevention program. Said rules and regulations may from time to time hereinafter be revised or amended as deemed necessary by the Governing Body. Such amendments or revisions shall take effect upon passage of a resolution by the Governing Body. (Code 1990 § 1-605)
