Subsection 608.15.4 Exception is hereby added to the International Plumbing Code and shall read as follows:

608.15.4 Protection by a vacuum breaker.

Exception: If under the City of Olathe’s water jurisdiction, the critical level of the vacuum breaker shall be set a minimum of 12 inches above the flood level rim of the fixture or device. Pipe-applied vacuum breakers shall be installed no less than 12 inches above the flood level rim of the fixture, receptor or device served.
