74-32 Depository of historical materials.

(a)    The Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society and the Pontiac Library shall be designated as the official depositories of the City of Pontiac of all historical material, including books, pamphlets, maps, charts, manuscripts, papers, copies of domestic and foreign records and archives, paintings, statuary, and other objects and material illustrative of and relating to the history of the City.

(b)    Such items on deposit with the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society and the Pontiac Library shall be considered on loan to the Society or the Library and shall be returned to the City upon dissolution of the Society or the Library or upon request by the Mayor. The City Clerk shall maintain a list of all items that were loaned to the Society or Library, the date of the loan, and the date the item was returned, and the person receiving the returned item on behalf of the City.

(c)    Before providing any items to the Pontiac Library, the Pontiac City Council and the Library Board shall enter into an intergovernmental agreement formalizing the association.
