13.20.010 Privy vault specifications.

All privy vaults hereafter constructed within the Village of Cimarron shall be so constructed as to be fly and rodent proof. They shall each consist of a reinforced concrete slab as a floor and foundation thereto. The seat or seats shall each have a cover so constructed and hung as to be fly-proof, which shall automatically drop when not in use. The superstructure of said privy vaults shall be ventilated by a four-inch vent pipe running out above the roof and down below the seat level, and said pipe shall have a fly screen at the top thereof. The pit shall be six feet deep and no more. No privy vault shall be built within 50 feet of any street without permission of the governing body. 13.20.020 Cesspools.

Any and all cesspools hereafter built shall be constructed under specifications to be furnished by the governing body. [Amended during 2014 codification; Ord. 50B § 2, 1939].

13.20.030 Inspection.

All privy vaults and cesspools shall be inspected by the governing body and if they do not conform to the specifications of this chapter contained or to those furnished by the board they may be declared a nuisance by resolution of the board, and their use as such may be forbidden by the village chief of police. 13.20.040 Penalty.

The violation by any person, firm or corporation of any of the terms or provisions of this chapter shall be deemed a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00 or less than $5.00 or by imprisonment in the Village or county jail for not exceeding five days or by both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the magistrate before whom said cause is tried.
