EXPLOSIVES AND FIREWORKS

8.08.010 Explosives unlawful.

It is unlawful for any person or persons to keep or store within the corporate limits of the city of Culver any dynamite, blasting powder, nitroglycerine or any other material primarily used as an explosive agent, or blasting caps or detonators. [Ord. 350 § 1, 1985.]

8.08.020 Fireworks unlawful.

It is unlawful for any person or persons to keep, store, offer for sale, ignite, or explode, within the corporate limits of the city of Culver, firecrackers, rockets, torpedoes, roman candles, toy cannons, detonating caps, blank cartridges or any other device, designed and intended for pyrotechnic display. [Ord. 350 § 2, 1985.]

8.08.030 Inflammable materials unlawful.

It is unlawful for any person to keep or store within the corporate limits of the city of Culver:

A. Gasoline, in any amount, except in approved metal tanks buried at least two feet underground, or in pumps in operation in any service station or garage;

B. Calcium carbide in excess of 100 pounds;

C. Any corrosive acids in excess of 10 gallons;

D. Chlorates or other oxidizing chemicals in excess of 10 pounds;

E. Pyroxlin plastic in excess of 20 pounds, except in unbroken packages where offered for sale. [Ord. 350 § 3, 1985.]

8.08.040 Violation – Penalty.

Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a Class A infraction and upon conviction in the municipal court shall be punished by a fine of a maximum of $500.00. [Ord. 350 § 4, 1985.]
